Practice on a cold windy day....

Hi guys,

We had a great practice, thanks all who came today. Well, it was cold Urbana cold. I guess it is time, I hear that Buffalo had a snowstorm of some kind...

Anyway, let go back to the practice. It was a really challenging game. Both team played pretty them well.... Tudo Bem, obviously very young very dynamic team, were all over the field. Short effective passes, couple of long shoots and a strong defense. Of course, lets not forget the keeper, who saved quite a bit of shoot today. On the other hand, Quad United played with experience of being together for a while. Both teams scored nice goals.

Ok, on the down side, I felt Tudo Bem had some difficulty generating goal positions. And I felt, it is kind of related to the field. Here is the case, we didn't play full field, instead we used two small goals. So it was more like a indoor soccer. Most of my team had quite a bit of experience playing in indoor soccer together, so it might gave them some sort of advantage time to time. But still, what I felt, the Tudo Bem is quite fast and dynamic. It is really good, when we play on a big field. You can have long runs, and go around the defense, since everybody pushes up for the offside tactic. Perhaps, we should have indoor practice together, time to time. Indoor is completely different. No where to run... Also, we should definitely take advantage of our speed. Long balls to the wing, will be effective. Last game having difficulty on scoring proves it.

Ok, this is all from me... Lets hear the captain now, he was there too...

By the way, our counter already hit 200, I am guessing everybody is enjoying following this blog...

Have a nice weekend, see you on Tuesday...

Sky Sports: Tudo Bem Mania and Zizou?!?

It's incredible, Sky Sports responded to an email and did a small segment on Tudo Bem Soccer Club during the nightly broadcast! It aired very late last night. There is a recording of the broadcast below. This is truley a defining moment for the club as it demonstrates Tudo Bem growing popularity; some call it Tudo Bem Mania. This small achievement will help Tudo Bem's marketability by increasing its status as a club with fans from around the world. In addition, there is a sound clip from Zidane responding to the speculation of him coming out of retirement to sign for Tudo Bem SC. The translation is below. You'll need to pause the music on the iPOD to hear the recordings. The first is from Sky Sports, the second from Zizou. Stop it when they're done and then play the iPOD again.

"I can not say where I will go, I must think. It is true that I have talked to, Sir Fergouwski. I am impressed by the team, Tudo Bem. I am retired, but the team is very good and they play with style. I would like to win the Intramural T-Shirt. It has alluded me. It is something I have dreamed about since I was a boy."

Game 2 - Result (Tudo Bem vs Townie All-Stars)

Tudo Bem Wins Battle After PKs

Without a goal on the board for either team after 50 minutes, pentaly kicks would unfortunately have to settle the match. Despite the absence of Co-Captain David Rockwood and having to go through always unpredictable PKs, Tudo Bem deservedly came away with their second win. In the very beginning of the game, Townie All-Scum seemed to control the midfield by winning loose balls and attacking with pace. However, the intimidating entrance of Ergin at right back and the presence of striker Chime Asonye's, his first game back for Tudo Bem in 2006, seemed to turn the attention of Townie All-Scum back to their threatened goal. Asonye carried two defenders on his back throughout the entire game as he continously penetrated and provided an attacking outlet for Tudo Bem. As Chime fought, his goal seeking partner, Jeff Luong, played an important role by always opening up space, moving the ball, and providing another outlet up top. Sir Fergouwski continued to tinker with the formation as he set up Tudo Bem in a more standard 4-4-2 formation. Attacking center midfielder Min Lwin was pushed up close toward the forward line in order to add more pressure and be another dimension for the attack from the center of the field. In addition, Tim Bosslet was able to sit back further behind the back line in the sweeper role to accomidate for the fantastic speed of a few of the Townie players. While the offense continued to break down Townie All-Scum in search for a goal, the midfielders were able to find their feet. From then on Townie bunkered in as Tudo Bem hustled and moved the ball around as they searched for gaps in the Townie defense. Occasionally, Townie were able to pull off a hand full of counter attacks. Remembering the cracking tackle by Alexander Reventlow on a helpless Townie winger, Townie realized their only chance could be by a quick long ball. It seemed dangerous at first, until Richardson, Bosslet, Ramsland, and Ceyhan warmed up. Bosslet played a solid game at the back, clearing and stealing the ball from the strikers right at the goal, leaving goalie Josh Paschedag bored with a few off target shots. Paschedag would be called on later. Tudo Bem camped out in the other half as Richardson directed and distributed to his wingers, Piotr Bzdyra and Steve Immen, who pentrated putting in numerous crosses and winning corners. Billy's debut showing was very solid. The veteran player signed the deal this week, the 9th new signing by Sir Fergouwski this season. His intelligence and composure on the ball helped greatly in the middle of the field along with Matt Swecker. Nevertheless, some how the brusied and bickering Townie All-Scum managed to keep the ball out of their net. Dreaming for the final whistle, they soon had nightmares in a blowout Penalty Kick Shootout. Matthew Richardson, Tim Bosslet, Chime Asonye, and finally Min Lwin blazed their shots passed a standstill goalie. Ready for the occasion, Paschedag only had to deal with two shots, because two shots were blasted off target. The penatly kick break down of the All-Scum was examplified as a few of their own players shamlessly walked off the field during the shooout. The referee, whose understanding of the laws of the games on tackling should be questioned, said that "Tudo Bem, Townie All-Stars, and Genovia were the best three teams he had seen play." Sir Fergouwski was also very pleased with the match, but knows the push towards the coveted Intramural T-Shirt will only become more difficult. "I was worried in the beginning, but I was proud of the players to battle hard. It's only their second game of the season, but I saw a good improvement in the communication and understanding between the players. We're going to need to keep up this fast learning curve, because we can't afford to slip up in our next games against even better opponents." As the weather gets colder it will become harder and more important to start off the game flying, which can be won or lost in the first minutes of the game. Tudo Bem will have to be at their best, when they play Ilini Victory October 17th at 10:00pm when they travel away to the East grounds, Old Six Pack Park.
