Ergin Ceyhan: Tudo Bem SC Legend

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that I must inform you that Ergin Ceyhan has left Tudo Bem SC. The greatest person to ever play for Tudo Bem SC has returned to Turkey. It is 100% true that powerhouse Fenerbahce wanted to sign Ergin for 421.62 million Turksih Lira ($300 Million USD), but he had to return for mandatory military service. Although we never got to wish Ergin good bye, he will always be with us. Ergin epitomized a Tudo Bem player: he was talented; he was a leader; he was a team player; and he played with heart. Ergin was responsible for many of the things we are fortunate to have. Ergin was the man behind Quad United and team Turkish. His team helped make the struggling Champaign/Urbana Men's league better. Ergin and Team Turkish graced the outdoor fields of the University and CRCE. Ergin and team Turkish dominated every competition. When we go to CRCE and see a 15 team waiting list to play, remember Ergin. Usually, we're waiting that hour to play Turkey. He sparked an interest in soccer on this campus. He won the Indoor World Cup 2 times with Turkey. Many of the soccer competitions and events that we particpate in are popular know because of Ergin and Turkey. Everywhere we go, people are playing soccer. Ergin started this with his the Turkish friends. Everyone wanted to play or not play Turkey. If you were indifferent, then you were new to soccer here and you quickly became wise. Many arguments occured during Turkish games; however, as a spectator and someone fortunate to play with them, I know people weren't too kind to Turkey. Furthermore, Ergin was a fair player that never caused fights and always settled flaring tempers. Ergin always played with passion and intelligence. Despite injuries he always wanted to play and he organized pick up games. When you see his friends, Tolga, Mehmet, Okan, Hakan, Ali, Jalell, Neuman, Alp, and anyone else that has worn the Turkish Red remember that it started with the help of Ergin. This blog that we are fortunate to have and laugh at and see pictures was started by Ergin. He invited me to contribute. Ergin also had a Quad United blog. I'm sure that in Turkey, Ergin will organize and start soccer games in the military. Hopefully, we'll get a link to that site and we can see pictures of his new teammates and the soccer games. Ergin loved soccer and he shared his passion with others. Ergin made a huge impact in my life, he was a close friend of mine. I'll always remember how he invited me to play soccer and made sure others had equal priviledges in soccer at the university. I wish I can still play soccer with him, but I may never again. However, I'll never forget the memories, emotions, and words I had with him. I hope you all recognizethe impact that he has had on us and future soccer players at the university. I am proud to recognize Ergin as the first player in be inducted into the Tudo Bem SC Legends. Thank You Ergin.
